New-build plumbing is three jobs in sequence: the underground rough-in before the slab is poured, the top-out once the frame is up, and the trim-out after the finishes are in — each with its own inspection. JB Plumbing plans and installs complete plumbing systems for new homes, additions and light-commercial spaces across Austin and Travis County, working from your plans and to the local code.
Underground. Drain, waste and vent lines and the water service set in the ground before the slab, pressure- and water-tested for the inspector. Getting slopes, cleanouts and stub-up locations exactly right here saves everything downstream. Top-out. Supply lines, vents through the roof, tub and shower valves, washer boxes and gas piping installed in the framed walls, tested and inspected before drywall. Trim-out. Fixtures, water heater, disposal and appliance connections installed and tested once the finishes are in, then the final inspection.
Slab-on-grade foundations on expansive clay are the regional norm, and the plumbing has to be planned for it — sleeved penetrations, correct bedding, PEX or properly protected copper, and cleanouts where a future plumber can reach them. Water heaters go where the pan can drain. We build the system we’d want to service later.
We work from your plans, flag conflicts before they’re poured in concrete, coordinate inspections with the schedule, and keep you informed at each phase. For owner-builders, we’ll walk you through what each inspection needs and when.
