A repipe replaces your home’s water supply lines — not the drains — usually because the original system is failing faster than it’s worth patching: repeated pinhole leaks in copper, galvanized steel rusted nearly shut, or gray polybutylene from the 1980s and ’90s that fails without warning. JB Plumbing repipes homes across Austin and Travis County in PEX or Type L copper, permitted and inspected, with the walls mapped before anything is opened.

PEX is flexible tubing pulled through walls and attics with far fewer fittings, so it means less drywall opened and a faster job; it also tolerates freeze expansion better than rigid pipe. A manifold (“home-run”) layout gives every fixture its own line and shutoff. Copper — Type L — is rigid, proven, recognized by every inspector and buyer, and the better choice where pipe is exposed or near heat, at the cost of more openings. We map where the new lines run and show you before we cut. Openings are kept to what the routing needs. The old system is abandoned in place rather than ripped out of the slab. Water is typically off for a day or less on most homes; larger jobs are staged so you have water each evening. The permit is pulled and the inspection passed before walls are closed. Drywall repair and paint are separate trades — we’ll tell you exactly what’s in our quote and what isn’t.
